Waist Training Tips and Tricks
Waist training is the gradual process of shaping, sculpting and slimming your waist line by using a waist trainer compression garment. We've put together a list of tips and tricks to help you achieve the best results while using a waist trainer.
DECIDING ON WHICH WAIST TRAINER TO BUY
Waist trainers come in a variety of styles including boned corsets, zip up corsets, belts and wraps. Each waist trainer will apply compression to your torso to shape your waist, some styles are designed to working gently and some more rapidly. The style you choose will depend on your individual body and your needs. We recommend starting with a waist trainer with 4 rows of boning to begin for someone looking to slim their waist, to progress further increase the amount of boning and opt for a thicker and stronger latex fabric. For women after pregnancy, surgery or those with medical conditions, we recommend a wrap or belt option as a low impact alternative.
FIND THE RIGHT SIZE WAIST TRAINER
Your waist trainer should be worn tightly to work and should not be loose. If the garment is not tight it won't apply compression and you will not see any change in your body. Make sure when you receive your waist trainer it is very tight on the largest size (the end of the clips), if it is not tight you will need to exchange the size. As you progress and your waist shrinks you will be able to adjust the size to make it tighter and continue slimming your stomach.
WEAR YOUR WAIST TRAINER DAILY
Wearing your waist trainer daily will ensure you see the best results. To begin we recommend wearing up to 2 hours per day, then slowly increase this to 4-8 hours. The more you wear your waist trainer, the faster you will see results. Make sure you own more than one waist trainer so you can rotate the style when you need to wash it.
DIET WHEN WAIST TRAINING
Eating a balanced and healthy diet in conjunction with using a waist trainer will help you achieve the best results. Ensure you are nourishing your body daily with nutritious foods including fresh fruits and vegetables, proteins such as meat, fish, chicken, seafood, eggs, complex carbohydrates and healthy fats like nuts, seeds, dairy. Every meal is an opportunity for you to fuel your body to achieve your health goals.
EXERCISE WHEN WAIST TRAINING
It is important to exercise in conjunction to using your waist trainer. Exercise is key for mental and physical health with many benefits of moving daily. We recommend 30 minutes of activity per day whether that is going for a walk, jogging, lifting weights, playing sport, dancing, yoga or swimming, make sure you find something you enjoy and do it regularly. Thermogenesis, which is the production of heat that causes perspiration that rids the bodies of toxins, unwanted fat and impurities will occur while wearing a waist trainer during exercise as the latex fabric will promote perspiration. Wearing a waist trainer can also assist in supporting your back and encouraging you to switch on your core muscles while training.
